Happy Birthday to America and OurSeniors.net

Today is America’s 241st birthday! It is time to celebrate the most successful nation in history and be thankful for the blessings of freedom and liberty.  This is also a good time to reflect on the qualities of our Founding Fathers. Most people would call them determined, courageous and patriotic, but they had another very important quality: they were willing to try something new, to break the mold of old thinking. This is also a similar philosophy for FindingAssistedLiving.com and OurSeniors.net, which, as the result of the merger, they celebrate their first year and announce the launch of OurSeniors.net Magazine for Volusia and Flagler counties. OurSeniors.net is now completing its transition from the old persona of “Finding Assisted Living” and FindingAssistedLiving.com. OurSeniors.net will become a resource directory available both on-line and as a full-sized, printed magazine published quarterly and distributed free. OurSeniors.net is the resource directory you can depend on for accurate, timely and unbiased information and guidance. This resource is...

Great News for Grace Manor of Port Orange, Florida Residents!

Great News for Grace Manor of Port Orange, Florida Residents!

The residents of Grace Manor Assisted Living Facility in Port Orange, Florida, can rest a lot easier tonight. The State of Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has decided not to go ahead with the proposed suspension of the facility’s operating license. This will come as a great relief to the 50+ residents of the Assisted Living Facility, their families and loved ones. If the suspension order had remained in effect, all of the residents would have had to relocate by 5 PM on July 26. The AHCA is the division of the Florida government that is responsible for licensing and regulating assisted living facilities in the state. Because of an unfortunate series of events, the agency decided that their duty required it to issue an immediate moratorium on new admissions to the facility and to suspend its license to operate effective at 5 PM on July 26, 2016 (See Order here). However, upon further consideration, the suspension order...

FAL Senior Transition Pro Team Welcomes Mr. John R. Dickinson, CPA.

The FAL Senior Transition Pro Team is striving to make this July 4th an ‘Independence Day for Seniors’, for their families and for their loved ones. The Senior Transition Pro Team is dedicated to making every person’s transition to a senior lifestyle the best one possible, the right one for them! Americans now live longer than ever before, staying healthy and independent for many additional years. Still, a time comes when remaining “home instead” is no longer the best choice. Decisions made now will affect health and happiness for many years to come. If the house is simply too much to keep up but the senior is otherwise healthy, a 55+ community or senior apartment may be a wise choice. However, for many an assisted living facility, a skilled nursing facility or a nursing home may be necessary. The range of needs, requirements and options is wide and confusing. Few people are prepared or qualified to make these choices alone. That is...

The FAL Senior Transition Pro Team is a network of professionals providing full, transparent, accurate and trustworthy information to help people find the senior transition option that is right for themselves and their loved ones. Transitioning into a senior lifestyle is not simple, and very few people are qualified or prepared to make all of these changes on their own. The range of choices, options and decisions can seem overwhelming. Is it time to consider an assisted living facility or is remaining ‘home instead’ still the better option? Is a nursing home or skilled nursing facility necessary, or would one of the growing number of senior apartments be ideal?...
