About Us
Established in 1974 by a group of forward-thinking parents, The Arc of Putnam County emerged from a shared vision for improved lives and enhanced opportunities for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Originating in the collective efforts of concerned parents and advocates, this initiative sparked both national and state legislation and funding, paving the way for community-based services.
Today, The Arc of Putnam County steadfastly upholds the belief that every individual, regardless of their disability, possesses the right to live, work, play, and actively engage in their community. Affiliated with The Arc of Florida and The Arc US, they are a private, non-profit agency collaborating with governmental entities and families.
The Arc of Putnam County boasts a rich history of advocacy, actively participating in the legislative process, championing the unique needs of those we serve, and enlightening our community about the myriad benefits of inclusive, community-based services.
