For the past 20 years, Ferst Readers has mailed books monthly to children, from birth to five years old, in participating communities until their 5th birthday at no cost to their families. They are sending over 50,000 books monthly to children in over 100 counties throughout eight states! The program is made possible through the local volunteer efforts of our Community Action Teams (CATs), who promote the importance of early literacy, register children, and find funding opportunities within their communities. Funding is provided through private donations, corporate sponsorships, and grants.
