The Senior Transition Pro Team welcomes its newest member, Dr. Hakop Hrachian, MD. Dr. Hrachian is a specialist in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, the branch of cardiology that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders.
Dr.Hrachian received his medical training from some of the nation’s finest health care institutions: New York Medical College, Mount Sinai Medical Center and Temple University Hospital. He has a strong background in numerous medical specialties, including Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and is board certified in each of these areas.
His medical practice is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm abnormalities. These medical conditions occur because of a problem in the heart’s electrical conduction system. Dr. Hrachian has extensive training in the procedures used to treat these conditions, including a number of new techniques.
Heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias) can be seen in a wide range of patients, but they are very common in seniors. This is because older adults are more likely to have heart disease and other medical conditions that may lead to arrhythmias. Seniors are also more sensitive to the side effects of medicines and conditions like dehydration that can cause arrhythmias.
Dr. Hrachian is licensed to practice in both Florida and California. His practice is now based in South Florida where he maintains offices in South Miami, Homestead, Miami Beach and Hialeah. He is a member of numerous professional medical organizations including-
