Seasonal Scams:

SOME FRAUDS FOLLOW THE CALENDAR AND ARE OFTEN TERMED SEASONAL CRIMES.

1. Lost Parcel Scams: These scams are normally higher during the high-volume holiday shopping season – from black Friday through late January after all returns have been forwarded.
2. Healthcare Medicaid /Medicare Fraud: These scams are normally higher during annual transfer periods.
3. Roofing / Construction Scams include – roof patching / replacement / patio replacement / tree pruning, etc. – these scams are normally higher during the hurricane season.
4. Romance Scams include – sending money / gift cards / jewelry, etc. – these scams are normally higher around Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, birthdays, etc.
5. Cemetery Scams include flower sales, gravestone cleaning, etc. – these scams are normally higher during Veteran’s Day, Easter, Passover, Christmas, etc.
