Walt Shurden, a Board Certified Elder Law Attorney with 24 years of experience, began practicing in 1998. His expertise lies in Medicaid eligibility and qualification for seniors and disabled individuals, as well as estate planning.
Walt completed his high school education in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1981. After serving in the Marines for three years, he pursued his undergraduate studies at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance in 1988. Following a year of postgraduate classes at Georgia College, he worked as an accountant in the Atlanta area for six years, obtaining certification as a Georgia Certified Public Accountant during that period.
In 1998, Walt graduated from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He achieved Board Certification in Elder Law by the Florida Bar in June 2004. Walt has been involved in various capacities, including serving on the boards of two nonprofit organizations in Pinellas County, contributing to the CLE committee of the Florida Bar, and frequently delivering presentations to senior church and community groups.
