Fort Lauderdale Vet Center provides free and confidential assistance to Veterans, service members, and their families in a non-medical environment. They provide counseling services to meet diverse needs, including addressing depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the psychological effects of military sexual trauma (MST). Furthermore, they can assist in establishing connections with additional support resources within the VA and your local community.

Vet Centers are conveniently located counseling centers in your community. Staffed by skilled counselors and dedicated team members, these centers are devoted to helping you navigate the challenges of life during and after military service.

Whether you choose individual counseling or participate in group sessions, Vet Centers offer chances to build social connections, try new activities, and create a support network with individuals who understand your experiences and are enthusiastic about helping you succeed.

Services

In order to assist veterans, service members and their families, Vet Centers provide many services. These services focus mainly on addressing a wide range of requirements other than traditional medical settings offered. The following are the core services provided:

• Counseling Services: Vet Centers provide counseling at an individual level, in groups, in families and in marriages. Such services aim at handling mental health problems like depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and military sexual trauma (MST). This can support making positive changes for such individuals and assisting them to heal as well as get adjusted.
• Readjustment Counseling: Focused on helping veterans make the transition from military to civilian life. These include reintegration coping mechanisms, dealing with trauma while serving, and adapting to adjustments related to family relationships or social ones.
