DeSantis: How do you give people relief uh- so that they have breathing room and the best way to do that is with the property tax.
What will Amendment 3 do for me?
In the first year alone: Increase your property tax exemption from 50k to 150k! That’s potentially 100k more in savings! Increased to 250k the following year.
It’s your money! Spend it how you want!
DeSantis: Because we’ve kind of been socialized as like that’s like the normal thing, it’s not really the way taxation works on almost anything else right? If you buy furniture you’ll pay a sales tax on it, you’re not paying tax every year on your couch or some of these other things.
But won’t tax exemptions impact rural county funding??
You could do the homestead revenue for all 32 fiscally constrained counties in Florida “rural counties”, and it was like 200 million dollars a year. Our budget is 117 billion; our surplus is 18 billion. You’re telling me we can’t spare a couple hundred million?
You heard that right, 18 BILLION in surplus. With only 200 million lost from exemptions.
The Government | Your tax dollars that can belong to you.
So, what are you doing? Get out there and vote this November 3rd!
If you have to wait then Voting will be on November 3rd, 2026. Check your local County times.
At the end of the day Enough is Enough. Vote YES on Amendment 3!
DeSantis: And what will end up happening is, the residents will have more money in their pocket, the economy will do better, the economic base will do better, you will start to develop naturally you know more tax revenue you get more sales tax you get more this because you have increased economic activity.
Amendment 3: What’s on the ballot? A look at what Florida Amendment 3 would do and some things to consider. Homestead Exemption Increase. Would increase the homestead exemption for non-school taxes to 150k in 2027 and 250k in 2028 with inflation adjustments thereafter. Assessment growth cap reduction. Would lower the annual assessment-growth cap for non-homestead property from 10% to 5%. Election Day: November 3, 2026. Considerations: Potential effects, could reduce the amount of property taxes paid by many homeowners (non-school taxes), may provide some relief for non-homestead property owners through a lower assessment growth cap, could impact local government revenue, depending on how the changes are implemented. Questions to consider: how might the increased homestead exemption affect your property tax bill, if at all?” What could be the impact on local services and funding if property tax revenue changes? How might the lower assessment growth cap affect non-homestead property owners in your area?
