Happy Anniversary America, yes 250th this 4th of July From the OurSeniors Team!
OurSeniors Vendors, Readers, Subscribers, and Donors…Let’s Talk Independence
We know you are very excited because Independence Day, a well-known and special day in American history, is coming soon! You have likely already planned your cookouts, purchased decorations in red, white, and blue, and bought many flags. But while we know that the 4th of July is a popular day, we want to remind you of its real meaning.
The 4th is not just about barbecues, fireworks, parades, and flag-themed cakes. It represents what happened on July 4, 1776, when the Continental Congress passed the Declaration of Independence.
This day celebrates the separation of the 13 North American colonies from Great Britain and the signing of the declaration that made this separation official. However, the declaration wasn’t signed on the 4th.Twelve of the 13 colonies voted for Richard Henry Lee’s motion for independence. The declaration was actually signed on August 2, 1776. Because of this, you might wonder why we celebrate on the 4th. We celebrate on the 4th because that is when we ‘adopted’ the Declaration of Independence, and the U.S. has been an independent nation since then.
So yes, July is here and we will be a bit busy check out our events below:           We will be at the Daytona Flea and Farmer’s Market on Saturday, July 5th from 9am to 2pm they have a Classic Car Show and we will be at Booth C287 South entrance come by and say HI or click here and join our Volunteer TeamÂ
