Lion’s Club

65075 Lions logoThe local Lion’s Club in Central Florida, District 35-O is helping those with hearing difficulties during COVID-19. An organization that was requested by Helen Keller in 1925 to be “knights of the blind,” Lion’s Club is focused on doing what they can to ease the burden off the hearing and visual impaired.
The most recent initiative by Lion’s Club of Central Florida is to provide complimentary face masks with a clear window for those with hearing difficulties to read the lips of their loved ones and caretakers. Many do not realize that face masks are a great barrier for many people and make living much more difficult. The organization has created these masks and face shields and are distributing them to those who send in this request form.
Lion’s Club International is a long-standing and world’s largest service club with more than 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries. This has allowed the organization to focus on a variety of issues.
If you are interested in volunteering, the organization is always looking for new people to volunteer their time, spread the mission through word-of-mouth or make monetary donations.
