Culver’s Here We Come!

Culvers Ad Winter 2023 Slider

To OurSeniors Readers, Vendors, Donors and Subscribers,

Florida has the second largest senior population in the country with more than 4.2 million seniors living across the state. Just in 2022 only 318,000 new residents now reside in Florida! Seniors have a wide variety of needs, some being simple and some complex, but the difference is that many seniors need additional help to ensure that they have solutions to those problems. Unlike younger populations, not all seniors have the ability to pick up extra hours at work, take on another job, or the means to take an extended vacation when needed, or achieve help at home if they require it. This is why OurSeniors exists, to provide seniors that need extra help with the help and support they could benefit from.

Your Donation Matters and There’s Still Time to Have It Matched

Did you know that many people donate because it helps to improve a sense of well-being? It also gives people the opportunity to be involved with their community and the positive change that they see in it. Whether you’re making a pledge, donating your time, or donating in general, the appreciation doesn’t only come from the OurSeniors team, it comes from the seniors that we work to help.

Donors are very mission-driven, enjoy being engaged with people from their community, and have a personal connection to a specific cause, and a good understanding of the impact they will make. Everyone has a relative which means everyone has seniors in their life whether directly or indirectly. It only makes it better that there is still time to have any donation that you give matched which means double the help and double the impact thru March 31st, 2023.

Will There Be Six More Weeks of Winter? Yes, There Will Be!

We all know what Groundhog Day means. It means that we get to find out if winter is going to continue for another 6 weeks or not. Groundhog Day actually derived from a Superstition from the Pennsylvania Dutch, and it said that on Groundhog Day if a groundhog emerges from its hole at the end of its hibernation and sees its shadow because of clear weather, this means that there will be six more weeks of winter to look forward to according to Phil!.

If the groundhog doesn’t see its shadow because of cloudiness, this means that spring is going to come early. As of 2023, the Marmot of the nation did see his shadow early last Thursday morning. What this means is that we can apparently look forward to another 6 weeks of below-average temperatures. Some of us in Florida are already feeling the impact, thank you Phil!

The OurSeniors team appreciates your involvement with our cause, and we want to extend a thank you to you and the support that you give our initiative. We hope to see you this Tuesday and we look forward to growing together as a community this year.
