Have You Seen The News In The Senior Magazine?

OurSeniors Readers, Subscribers, and Donors

Keep up with the latest our senior magazine. January is a month that points out multiple opportunities to increase awareness for things like cervical health, mental wellness, and even leprosy. It also features important days such as Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday and is a month known for other initiatives such as teen driving awareness and stalking awareness.

Additionally, you might not have known that January is also known as national hot tea month, national oatmeal month, and national blood donor month. While there are a variety of things to bring attention to, celebrate, learn more about, and raise awareness for, there are other things that you don’t want to overlook…..the communities that need you the most such as “our seniors”.

Thanks to our Generous Donor, Donation Matching Extended!

You might have thought that donation matching was coming to an end but it’s far from over and it’s all due to a very generous OurSeniors donor and supporter. Now the deadline will be March 31, 2023, giving you plenty of time to help OurSeniors spread awareness for senior health and safety, to expand our resources, and to extend our reach. Keep in mind that you won’t only be helping others. You’ll be helping yourself as well.

When you donate to a nonprofit, that donation becomes a tax deductible. So, for those of you that wanted to double the incentive, not only for us but for yourself, your donation will be considered an IRS-approved deduction for tax season.

This means that if you make a donation before the 31st, it will be matched by our donor and you will also be able to “mark it off”.

We Love to “Fund Raise” and We Know That You Love to Be Included

Just as we enjoy providing our senior communities with care, we also love providing recognition for our donors and our participating organizations that help to raise awareness and give others a chance to experience something that makes them smile. Culver’s is one of these participating organizations and whether you have a sweet tooth or a sense for something savory, you’ll enjoy your time there.

This February, you will have the chance to make a difference in your community by visiting Culver’s on either February 7, 2023, or February 14, 2023, between 4 pm and 8 pm on both days. We don’t want you to limit yourself to spending time with us for just one day. Feel free to join us on both occasions, the OurSeniors team will love it and so will “our seniors”.

Do You Need An Attorney?

There are a variety of reasons that anyone might need an attorney but the main advantage to having one in your corner is having a subject matter expert readily available to you when you need them. Two of OurSeniors supporters you’ll want to know are Attorneys Wendy Mara and Andrew Grant.

Mr. Grant from Kinsey Vincent Pyle, P.L. has expertise in tax disputes, elder law, and drafting wills and trusts, among other skills. He’s been actively practicing law since 2001 throughout the Daytona area and is a great resource for anyone that needs expertise in a variety of focus areas.

One of the top reasons that seniors specifically would have for having an elder law attorney would be multiple things from financial Planning and medical directives to guardianship inquiries or estate planning.

Mrs. Mara of Mara Law Firm is another approved vendor and resource of OurSeniors and she has a specialty in estate planning, guardianship, as well as family law, among other disciplines. Additionally, if you have the need for legal assistance for business matters, she is a top go-to attorney in the Ormond Beach-Volusia and Flagler county areas.

As Always, We Thank You

The OurSeniors team is able to do the work that we do because of people like you….a donor, a subscriber, a reader. All it takes is for one person to make a difference but for a higher impact, consistency, and more people being helped with fewer wait times, it often takes more than one. That is why we think of you as a vital part of our team….our family.

In case you didn’t already hear our thanks, the OurSeniors team wants to thank you for the support that you give us and the seniors that we serve.
