Did you know that during the holiday season, for every 10 Americans, 8 of them experience feelings of increased stress? During a time of the year that is intended to project happiness, good deeds, and fun, it has become easier to stress more about things that shouldn’t be stressful at all.
From holiday preparations, loneliness, and even travel…more people are losing sight of the smaller, yet incredibly significant, days of recognition that add a special touch to the season as well as the small things that make such a huge difference in the lives of others and that’s not something we want.
Don’t Overlook “The Day of Giving”
As the hustle and bustle of the holiday season approaches even more quickly, it’s easy to just focus on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza, and unknowingly overlook smaller days of recognition that are also important. One of those days is “Giving Tuesday” which falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving yes, it’s today!
The shopping, decorating, and endless cooking and baking easily overshadow days like this but we don’t want to forget what the true meaning of the holiday season really is…’giving back’.
This Global Day of Generosity is a chance for people to come together and make a positive impact in our communities and on those who need a positive change the most. Whether you choose to support a local charity, volunteer your time, or simply spread kindness, every act of generosity counts, and times of recognition for those doing exactly that matters just as much as the deed itself.

Giving back and making a difference has never been so easy! Everyone loves a good burger and that’s just one of the many things that the restaurant Red Robin is known for. All day on December 20th, this burger mogul is going to give 20% of purchases back to ourseniors.org, Inc.

You’ll Want to Join In
The MetroHealth Inc. is all about paving the way to a healthier you as well as a healthier community through the things that they do best…service, teaching, discovery, and teamwork. With this in mind, we want to remind you to prepare to sign up for an event you won’t want to miss. On the 29th of November from 11 am to 1 pm, you could have access to MetroHealth’s open house and have the chance to win prizes, receive a tour, and even get a gift card. It’s an opportunity to get a better insight into healthcare in the Holly Hill area with a lot of other surprises throughout the event. Not to mention, you’ll start earning rewards just for showing up.
