Let’s us never forget D-Day, which took place on June 6, 1944, was when the Allied troops initiated the most extensive naval invasion ever recorded, referred to as Operation Overlord, aiming to land on Normandy‘s beaches in France. The goal was to free Western Europe from the grip of Nazi rule, necessitating a substantial collaborative endeavor involving ground, aerial, and maritime units. The attack on the shores, termed Operation Neptune, was foreshadowed by parachute deployments and a barrage from naval forces.
