The valuable state and federal agency is an excellent addition to the OurSeniors.net directory of Central Florida Senior services, resources and magazine.

FL DOEOurSeniors.net is excited to announce that the Florida Bureau of Braille and Talking Books Library Services has joined up as an approved provider of senior services.
The Florida Bureau of Braille and Talking Books Library Services is both a state and federal agency. It is part of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, under the U.S. Library of Congress, and is administered through the Division of Blind Services, Florida Department of Education.
The Library offices are located in Daytona Beach, and services are provided to the entire state of Florida in cooperation with nine sub-regional libraries throughout the state.
The Library distributes books and magazines in both braille and audio formats to individuals who are not able to read standard print or electronic media due to visual impairment, physical disability or a certifiable reading disability such as dyslexia. Users can opt for free delivery through the U.S. Postal service or they can download the material. For those without digital players for listening, the Library also offers long-term loans of digital players for audio books and amplified headphones for users with hearing loss.
“We are very pleased to join the listing of approved service providers vetted by OurSeniors,” says Kathy Acevedo, the Coordinator of Volunteer Services and Outreach at the Library. “Our Library offers a marvelous service, and our goal is to reach all Floridians eligible to receive it. This includes anyone with vision loss, a physical condition or a certifiable reading disability that keeps them from reading standard print. These individuals all qualify for our services, free of charge, and we want them to be aware of it! We know that listing with OurSeniors is going to help get the word out in the 15 central Florida counties now covered by the magazine.”
All services are completely free for any Florida adult or child who qualifies. The Library also has institutional memberships available for schools, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities and independent living facilities, hospitals, medical practices and any other institution that regularly deals with persons who may be eligible for Library services.
