As cases of COVID-19 continue to rise, Floridians are facing the tough decision of quarantining or keeping life as usual. If you chose to social distance, thank you, we appreciate your sacrifice. While staying at home, you may have a lot of time to kill. Instead of re-watching a series, why not try something new? Keep on reading for some unique suggestions.
Here are seven things you can do for free to ramp up your quarantine entertainment:
- Listen to the B.C.’s archive of radio plays for free.
- Take a tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, discover Mexico City with Frida Kahlo or journey to the South Pole.
- Host a virtual jigsaw puzzle party with your family and friends!
- Want to learn how your favorite snacks or cocktails are made (a.k.a. Doritos and Bees Knees!), visit Bon Appetit’s Virtual Kitchen.
- Are you a lover of the rare and vintage? Then visit the Post Archive for classic radio, poets, writers reading their works, interviews, jazz, and more.
- Start a senior-friendly workout routine and shed the quarantine weight.
- If you miss attending religious services, join a local virtual sermon or type in virtual sermons on YouTube.
There are plenty of amazing things you can do at home besides watching Netflix. Go through the list and see if anything catches your interest or try them all! Luckily all these suggestions are free and accessible. Quarantining doesn’t have to be boring or wasteful. Take advantage of your precious time and have fun!
If you have a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, call your nearest medical facility and seek care immediately. If you have an underlying condition like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or respiratory conditions, shelter in place and stay away from others or crowded areas.
