There’s Fun to Be Had: Events You Don’t Want to Miss

OurSeniors.net- Event You Don't Want to Miss

There are so many different opportunities for seniors to find fun events in Florida. There is always something new and exciting happening, but there’s a chance the events may not have been on your radar. Oftentimes when the new year starts, we become overwhelmed with our new schedules, resolutions, ideas, and simply starting over. This can cause us to overlook the perfect moments to have fun, to dedicate our time to a good cause, to support something that we enjoy, or to have outings with family and friends.
Having a sense of engagement and participation in your community can increase opportunities to get involved in the things that interest you the most. This is why we’re going to talk about some of these amazing events that you don’t want to miss.

The Daytona Turkey Run

The Daytona Turkey Run is a great event for seniors that want to have some fun and have an active day. This three-day event includes a car show, swap meet, and of course, the turkey run itself! Additionally, you’ll find an art and fashion show and for you car collectors, you’ll find the car corral to be the highlight of the event.
What’s even more fun about this event is that it’s pet-friendly. So, if you have a furry companion, they can tag along with you. There’s truly something for everyone at this event, so be sure to make it an outing with family or friends if you get the chance to go.

OurSeniors Upcoming Lunch and Learn

Our Lunch and Learn series continues, and we highly encourage all seniors in the area to attend! With special guest speakers, insightful information, and a great lunch, you won’t want to miss either of our upcoming events for February and March. Throughout this series, we have guest speakers come in to talk about important topics that can answer questions many people might have or provide general useful information.
We hope to see you on February 25th from 10:30 am-12:30 pm where our speaker; Andrew Grant, Esq. will be giving information on “Documents Needed to Plan For What Happens at Death or Disability”. In March, we will be hosting another Lunch and Learn on the 25th from 10:30 am-12:30 pm and the topic of this event will be “How to Manage Covid-19 Stress” presented by Dr. Regina Asihene.
Both of these events are sure to provide you with some valuable information, so mark them on your calendar and join us for an enlightening experience.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra

The Glenn Miller Orchestra is coming to town on January 19th! This amazing band always puts on a great show, and we highly recommend that you be in attendance if you’re a fan of good music. If you aren’t already familiar with them, the orchestra has been around since 1938 and has played countless venues all over the world.
Their music is truly timeless, so this is an event you don’t want to miss. They are an American swing dance band and it’s a show to see. If you want to experience some incredible music and have a great night out, we hope that you’ll consider this event.

Customize Your Outing

No matter your interests, there are multiple events taking place across different areas of Florida. If you’re passionate about a certain cause, do some research to find events related to drawing awareness to that cause. If you’re a movie or music buff, consider a showing of a classic movie, or attend a concert or musical. There are often local food and wine showcases, and even special events that are ideal for the entire family.
Not sure what type of event you’d like to attend? Talk to a family member, or friend and ask what they would find to be fun or interesting. Doing this can give you the opportunity to make it an outing to look forward to, get involved in your community, and have some fun. There are tons of events to look forward to including the Daytona 5k & Fun Walk, and even the Florida State Fair.
The key thing to remember is that Florida provides the perfect weather for just about any type of activity. If you want to do something, in particular, you can always make up your own outing as you go.

Find Things to Look Forward To

Hopefully, this has given you some fun events to look forward to and has encouraged you to attend some of the many amazing events that are happening in your area. By having engaging experiences that promote socialization and learning, you are also promoting togetherness and fun. So, work to extend the same thought and share an event with a friend, and don’t forget to mark your calendars.
